Fertility is a blessing from Allah, and for some, the journey to conception can be filled with trials. In Islam, we understand that illness and hardship can come from both physical causes and unseen influences, and that true healing comes from Allah alone.
Among the Prophetic methods of treatment is hijama (cupping therapy)—a practice praised in the Sunnah and used for centuries as a means of healing.
🩺 What Is Hijama?
Hijama is a form of cupping therapy in which suction is applied to the skin, followed by small, superficial incisions to draw out a small amount of blood.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The best of remedies you have is cupping (hijama).”— Sahih al-Bukhari (5696)
🌸 Hijama and Physical Support for Fertility
Hijama may support the body by:
Encouraging healthy circulation
Supporting balance within the body
Promoting relaxation and reducing stress
These factors can contribute to improved overall reproductive health.
🌙 Understanding the Unseen: Jinn and Sihr
Allah reminds us:
“And from the evil of the blowers in knots.”— Surah Al-Falaq (113:4)
And the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Indeed, Shaytan flows through the son of Adam like blood.”— Bukhari & Muslim
These texts affirm the reality of the unseen. While not every fertility issue is spiritual, Islam teaches us not to ignore this dimension.
🤲 Hijama and Spiritual Healing
Hijama is often combined with ruqyah, du’a, and عبادات to address both physical and spiritual well-being.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Healing is in three things: a drink of honey, the incision of a cupper…”— Sahih al-Bukhari (5681)
📿 Ruqyah Ayahs for Fertility & Protection
These verses are commonly recited for healing, protection, and seeking Allah’s help:
1. Surah Al-Fatihah (1:1–7)
A powerful healing surah used in ruqyah.
2. Ayat al-Kursi (2:255)
For protection from harm and unseen influences.
3. Last Two Verses of Surah Al-Baqarah (2:285–286)
For protection and spiritual strength.
4. Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas (3 Quls)
Recite regularly for protection from evil, including sihr.
5. Key Healing Verses
Surah Al-A’raf (7:117–122)
Surah Yunus (10:81–82)
Surah Taha (20:69)
These are often recited specifically against sihr.
🤍 Duas for Fertility from the Qur’an
🌸 1. Dua of Zakariyya (AS)
“Rabbi la tadharni fardan wa anta khayrul waritheen.”“My Lord, do not leave me childless, though You are the best of inheritors.”— Surah Al-Anbiya (21:89)
🌸 2. Another Dua of Zakariyya (AS)
“Rabbi hab li min ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibah, innaka samee‘ud-du‘a.”“My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.”— Surah Aal ‘Imran (3:38)
🌸 3. General Dua for Righteous Family
“Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a‘yun…”“Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and offspring comfort to our eyes…”— Surah Al-Furqan (25:74)
🧭 How to Use Ruqyah Practically
Recite daily with presence and sincerity
Blow lightly into your hands and wipe over the body
Recite over water or olive oil and use it
Combine with hijama sessions if appropriate
Stay consistent—results often require patience
⚖️ A Balanced Islamic Approach
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Seek treatment, O servants of Allah…”— Abu Dawud (3855)
This teaches us to:
Take practical means (asbab)
Engage in spiritual remedies
Have tawakkul in Allah
🌿 Final Reflection
Hijama, combined with ruqyah and du’a, offers a powerful holistic approach rooted in the Sunnah. It allows a believer to address both the physical body and the unseen influences, while relying fully on Allah.
Fertility is رزق (provision), and Allah gives it in His perfect timing.
“To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He grants female children to whom He wills, and male to whom He wills.”— Surah Ash-Shura (42:49)
